I got my iphone 5 wet yesterday and the screen no longer works. The phone is still on because the little red proximity sensor light stays on non stop and i can hear myself getting text messages. Id like to back up my data before getting a new phone but it wont connect to itunes on my computer. I have a MBP and am curious as to if there is anyway to force it to back up to icloud with my laptop, or is there any other way of saving my data? Thanks!

I don't think there's a way to do that, especially if the Lightning Port is broken.
You could always try to connect it to a power adapter and the backup should happen overnight (but you won't be able to verify...). But I don't know if that's a good idea with water damage.

If you still can connect the device to the PC and just iTunes is giving you trouble for whatever reason, you can at least try to grab your data via iExplorer or iTools.
