I have a combo drive Rev. B powerbook. Is it possible to send this to apple and have them put a SD in, if not are there any other places i can get one installed? I really need one now.

Superdrive

No, $400 is not a little much. Laptops are really tough to upgrade, seeing as how half the computer has to be taken apart in order to do so. Have you thought about buying an external?

I guess im better off trying to get a trade or selling my current rev b and get a refurb rev b or a new rev c. Does Apple have any kind of trade in program to get credit towards another apple product?

Trade In? You will get much more money selling on ebay and than buying a new one with a Superdrive. It's like trading in your car at the dealership. They give you sh*t and then resell it for an enormous profit.
