Currently using Bootcamp - which I want to keep. I do need to run Win7 standalone.

But I occasionally want to be able to use Windows 7 within OSX.

I don't want to buy another MS Licence - and additional licences for all the software I own already.

Do Parallels/ Fusions etc - have a means of just pointing to the Windows 7 Partition. And I can just crack on?

Sounds easy. Bet it isn't :(

Any pearls of wisdom gratefully received.

Parallels has the ability to import your bootcamp partition as a VM. I haven't tried it myself, but it in the main menu as well as their docs. You might need to install something on the boot camp version in order for Parallels to see it, i know they have a transfer application for porting a windows install into the VM.

EDIT: Just tried and it works great!
