Just got a HomePod Mini. Put it in the same room as my HomePod and told the Home app that's what I'd done.

In order to get music to play in the Living Room on both devices do I really have to specify the name of the room or say "everywhere"?

Is Siri not bright enough to play the music on all the speakers in the room (or zone) I'm in?

Am I missing something?

You mean say "please play Ticket to Ride in the living room?"
No, I haven't but I assume that would accomplish what I want.

But I don't want to have to specify the Living Room given that it's the only room I have HomePod speakers in and that it's the room in which Siri is listening and responding to the command

If you had the HomePods set up as a stereo pair, then you wouldn't have to specify, but since you can't pair a mini and a full-sized HomePod as a stereo pair, you're going to have to specify the room since otherwise Siri doesn't know if you want music on just that one HomePod or on all in that room.
