I have a PC that I built as my main gaming machine. I would love to be able to access and play those games through my headset. Anyone know if it's possible using steamlink, moonshine, etc.? If so, how's the input lag and also will I be able to connect my wireless xbox or ps5 controller and use them to play those games?

Yup I use Steam Link all the time to play all my PC games. There is not much latency either. You can also Mac Virtual Display and use anything that is on your Mac like the PS Remote App for PS5.

What I do is wire my PC directly to my Mac with a ethernet cable and run SteamLink with my wireless controller wired to the PC directly. Then I Mac Virtual Display my MacBook Pro. This is the way I have found the least latency.

Vision Pro is slept on for gaming. I play so many games with a huge screen wherever I want.

MY PC is already directly connected to my router via ethernet, and so is my PS5. I have an M1 MacBook Pro. How do you hardwire it directly to your PC? It doesn't have any ethernet ports on it. Doesn't AVP have a dedicated steamlink app? I just want to know the best way to do this with the least input latency. Since AVP is a wireless device, I'm worried there will be noticeable lag when streaming and playing games on it.

Vision Pro has the iPad app version of SteamLink in the App Store. it works fine but the resolution is locked to an iPad resolution which doesn't look bad at all but you could just run SteamLink or Steam on your Mac and use ultra wide resolutions/4K and such. I found that directly connecting the PC with the Mac and then mirroring the Mac Display with the AVP has the least latency because the only wireless connection is the one between the Mac and the AVP and Apple has done a really good job linking up those two to have very little lag.

You can just buy a USB-C to ethernet adapter off Amazon. I got the 2.5G Sabrent USB-c one. Steam has an option for direct connect remote play in settings on the PC.

Okay thanks, but exactly what kind of wire do I need to directly connect my gaming PC to my macbook? Because my gaming PC is already using a wired ethernet connection to the router. I believe my PC only has one ethernet port in the back.

directly connecting the PC with the Mac
I take it this connection is a Steam-specific feature? I’m wondering if one can somehow use a Mac as an extended desktop for a PC (to then mirror to the Vision Pro).

Yeah, it's a Steam feature and yes you can just alt tab out of Steam while Steam Link is running and use the Windows desktop like you would Remote Desktop. So you can use the AVP as a display for Windows PCs. I believe there are other apps that can do the same things though.
