Normally I use the native Mail app on my iMac (Yosemite 10.10.1), but the other day I had to access my email from another computer, so I logged into Gmail. While in Gmail, I decided to delete all the items in my trash and spam, because whenever I try to delete it within Mac Mail, it just reappears - and I figured that if I delete it right in Gmail that would do the trick. Well, I'm not sure exactly what happened next, but I must have accidentally selected all or something and the next thing I know ALL my email is gone. Inbox, sent items, trash, spam, everything. I poked around Gmail, but I didn't see any options to restore, undo, or anything that looked like it could retrieve my emails.

When I got back home, I checked my computer, and sure enough, Mail had synced with my gmail account, and everything was gone there too.

I figured Time Machine had backed up all my mail, so I went into TM, and the entire 'mail' folder in my library is only there for the latest backup (post-deletion). If I go back to any previous backups, the whole library folder is a differently layout, and the mail folder simply isn't there. I tried accessing TM from the Mail app, and it only restores a handful of random emails from a few years ago (weird). Anyhow, does anyone know a way for me to retrieve my email, or is it gone forever?

Any help is much appreciated, thank you!
