I bought a launch day iPhone 5 and recently I noticed that there is dust inside the camera lens, which renders noticeable spots when I take photos against solid color backgrounds. I've taken pretty good care of the phone so not sure how something like that would happen.

I didn't buy AppleCare but was wondering if anyone has had success with returning and getting a new one at the Genius Bar? It's not easy for me to make a trip to the Apple Store so if it's hopeless, I probably won't bother.

Any advice appreciated, thanks.

There are TONS of threads on this already. Yes, take it back and they will either clean it out or replace the phone.

I had this on my phone also. It was some purple dots inside the camera lens.
I just brought it in and Apple replaced the phone.
