I was just wondering if its possible to set initial window size of some apps?

I want my Emac to open up bigger (width wise) when I start it? Can I do that?

Are you talking about the console version of emacs or a gui version?

Open the app of your choosing and resize it to
the way you want. (Drag Corners)
Then close the app using file/close or Quit (!! Do not use the Red Button!!)
That should save it for the next time you open it.

I am using the GUI version of Emacs which is a port for Mac. I am using the one found at: http://homepage.mac.com/zenitani/emacs-e.html

I tried the method given by Yakamoto but it always opens up with the same initial size.

Maybe changing some conf file would help?
