Possible to upgrade AT&T phone at Apple store?

I think I know the answer to this and it's probably a long shot but I'll ask anyway...

I bought the 8gb 3G phone at an AT&T store and am regretting that I didn't get the 16gb. I know AT&T has a 30 day return policy with a restocking fee but I'm not holding my breath that NYC AT&T stores will have stock flowing in the next few weeks.

The NYC Apple stores, however, have had no problem with supply. Any of you guys think Apple will take back a phone bought at an AT&T store for a restocking fee so I can get the 16gb one?

I highly doubt it, with about 99.999% accuracy. All you can do is return the phone to the AT&T store, then buy one at the Apple Store.
