With all the reservation confusion, will it still be possible to walk in and get an iphone on June 24th with or without a contract (US)?

Thanks

I called my local apple store and they said that they will have stock. I plan to show up around 3am. They said it is also possible to buy without a contract which is what Im doing.

Just don't be stupid about it. Don't go to an Apple or ATT store. Go queue up at a Wal Mart. The Apple snobs whine about it being sold to the masses at Wal Mart, but I bet its your best chance to get one.

Current rumors are that Wal Mart is only getting 16GB models. If you want a 16GB one, it might be a good tactic.

I want a 32GB, so I'm probably going to be at an apple store at dawn.

I agree that the new outlets will be worth a try, assuming they have a good number of phones. For the 3G and 3GS I went to AT&T and the lines were reasonable (~10 minutes or so), unlike the Apple store one block away where they were crazy long. I walked into BestBuy on the iPad launch day and again waited about 10 minutes for them to open and walked out with an iPad. For the 2G I walked in the day after launch to an Apple Store (no line and no reservation).

This time I'm having it delivered to my house.

I doubt that Walmart is going to have as many iPhones in stock as an AT&T store or Apple store will.
