Possible to wipe hard drive completely in SL installation?

I just bought this and i have 24 MB left on my macbook, is there an option in the installer to format the hard drive?

You need to go into Disk Utility and then Erase the drive, I think.

Boot up from the Snow Leopard disk, go to Disk Utility, reformat, zero out data (number of your choosing), install OS X.

You don't even have to zero out the data... I didn't.
