I've been caseless with every phone I've bought and used since 1999. Yes, you can drop them and yes they can break. I even cracked a screen once.
But it's not like just because you don't use a case you are automatically going to destroy your phone.
Cases tend to give people a false sense of security. Without a case you develop SA (Situational Awareness). You're aware of where your phone is, where you set it down, how you set it down, how you hold it and in crowds how you put it away or cradle it to protect it with your hands.
All stuff case users tend not to want to bother with. Hence cases sell.
The key is not being able to drop it at all. As in not possible. No need for some bomber ballistic case that can survive a fall down a flight of stairs if the phone can't be dropped in the first case
