G'Day,

I was playing around in Photoshop today, made a few images, and found how to set these images as the Carrier Logo (as in Image, not Phrase). There is only One word different for iPhone, but as I am in the iPod Touch forum, I will omit this.

Step 1: FSO (Black Transparent Status Bar Image) Carrier.

Open up Photoshop or GIMP (Windows/Mac)
Create a New, Transparent Document at 20px high and 150 wide.
Choose the text tool and size 12 font - this is necessary for it to fit in nicely with the status bar.
Type the word/s that you want as your image.
Set the color.
Shrink the canvas to 1px wider than the Logo (1 px on each side - t, b, l, r)
Save for Web as "FSO_CARRIER_IPOD" to your Desktop.

Step 2: Default (White gradient Menu Bar) Carrier.

Duplicate the layer, move the "...copy" layer to the top and hide it.
Change the color of the original layer to White and move it down 1px with the move tool, show the "...copy" layer and make sure it is exactly 1px under the original layer.
Shrink the canvas to 1px wider than the Logo (1 px on each side - t, b, l, r)
Save for Web as "Default_CARRIER_IPOD" to your Desktop.

Step 3: Uploading

Mac: Download Cyberduck
Windows: WinSCP

Mac:
Open up Cyberduck and connect to your iPod Touch through SSH.
Get to the following directory: System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/
Drag "Default_CARRIER_IPOD" & "FSO_CARRIER_IPOD" FROM CYBERDUCK to a New Folder in the Finder, you have now backed them up.
Making sure that this is done:
Drag "Default_CARRIER_IPOD" & "FSO_CARRIER_IPOD" TO Cyberduck, Overwrite the files if necessary. (Preferable)
Restart the springboard with Respring or iReboot or even Terminal from the Finder Utilities:
ssh root@<ipod ip here>
enter the password "alpine" when prompted and type "killall SpringBoard".

Step 4: (OPTIONAL JAILBREAK)

Download PwnageTool or WinPwn, jailbreak your iPod/iPhone. It is very self explanatory. There is plenty of help on this forum if needed.

Step 5: (OPTIONAL IPHONE METHOD)

Simply follow the steps above but change the "...IPOD" to "ATT" or your carrier abbreviation found as an image in the SpringBoard.

Cheers!
