Post here if you ordered a 17" MBP Penryn hi-res GLOSSY

It looks like Apple is catching up.

I ordered on March 11th and estimated ship date was April 1st. When I checked it a minute ago it's now Mar 21- 25. I'm getting excited!

I just went to check my Apple Order Status after getting off the phone (like I described above) and my status is "PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT"!!!!!! I hope this is no mistake and they ship it Monday!! As they upgraded me to 2-3 shipping (for free too) I'd get it by Thursday at the latest... That would be a he** of a treatment from Apple!!! WOW Apple rocks!! ;)

so, they do work the weekend (or at least they update statuses on weekends).

mine just changed to "prepared for shipment". i was obsessively hitting refresh, so i know it just changed because it still said "not yet shipped" 5 mins ago.

still, after all the stories of yellow screens and popping sound, i think i'll keep my old mbp setup for a couple days, just in case i have to return the new one.

i guess i'll also hold of on installing the new memory until i give it some "tests".
 
how is mine still on "not yet shipped", when i ordered it the day after the penryn mbp's went on sale? Some of you ordered on the same day, or even later, and it has either shipped already, or is being prepared.

not fair...
 
man I think mine just changed to prepared for shipment the same time yours did, now im getting excited again!

according to fedex and apple, i should get it tues. that is way earlier than i thought.

now it looks like i may have to stay home tuesday and wait for it. lucky my daughter is off school next week, so i don't have to take her and pick her up and risk missing the delivery.
 
mine just went "Prepared for Shipment" today also. Looks like the floodgates are being unleashed on shipping these. Apple store now says 5-7 days too. Looks like ordering early got me nothing. I am kicking myself for not getting express shipping.

Question: My CC company called me this afternoon asking for verification on a couple large $$ purchases requested by Apple online. I asked if the request was for 'charges' or a 'hold'......he confirmed it was charges and went ahead with the approval. I thought our CC wasn't charged until product was being shipped? Wonder if this is something to get excited about.... especially since my Expected Ship Date isn't until March 26. I did just check my order status and it still says 'Not Yet Shipped'.

Man do I need this computer to get here, lol

What ya think?
 
Well I finally got a tracking number on Friday night! :D

Was really hoping it'd arrive at my local depot today. Rang up TNT and although helpful got a different story from different people. Did get the number of the local depot from one of their folks though, called them up - CLOSED :( but found an option on the automated line and managed to speak to someone at the depot! He checked the system - not yet arrived.. :eek: Probably just sees what we see on their tracking website I bet.

SO it's due to arrive Monday. Getting it dropped off with my neighbour, so hope he doesn't go out on Monday lol :p
 
Awesome my high RES 17" glossy with final cut preindtalled has shipped and delivers on Monday. Cant wait.

Same with me, and I just have the regular shipping option. Must mean it will be shipped out from the United States and not China.

originally ordered the 15" on the day of the updates, then saw info in this forum about ADC discounts, so cancelled that order and ordered the 17" hi-res the next day

Or to be exact, it's been received by my neighbour so I'll have it as soon as I get home from the office! :D

I'm tempted to start coughing loudly and take the rest of the afternoon off :eek:

Will try to post some pics tonight. Must be some other UK deliveries happening today I'd guess?
 
Mine shipped over the weekend as well, targeted for Wednesday delivery. Guess who's taking the day off work? :D
