Post Leopard clean install iTunes library

I'm planning on installing Leopard via a clean install. So obviously that's going to destroy any data that's currently on my Mac. I have my entire iTunes library on an external hard drive. Now the question...

After Leopard has been installed, how can I get iTunes to "see" my library and be able to play content from the external hard drive without having to restore from backups? Can it be as simple as consolidating the iTunes library or is there more to it?

Hold the option key, and click on the iTunes icon in the dock. You would be given a option - 'Choose library'. Direct iTunes to the external HD > iTunes folder. Everything should load as per normal.

Works with iPhoto as well.

Gah, I completely forgot about holding option while opening an app in the dock! Thanks for reminding me. I will definitely be doing this as it will save a lot of time.
