I have a 2.2 Ghz MBP with 2GB of RAM w/ 10.4.11 , I run (for the most part) several light weight applications with a handful of bigger users, I had this problem right now so here's a list of what I had running...

Mail
Safari
iTunes
Dreamweaver CS3
Terminal
Transmit
Colloquy
Adium
Skype
Excel
Preview

Now here's the problem I have, when I wake my computer from sleep it takes a long time to type my password in (typing is delayed), then about a minute to get past that screen after I hit enter. After that my computer is totally useless for the next five minutes, iTunes will stutter, hitting expose means I get a nice minute long slideshow. After that everything is back to its normal speed. Fortunately this happens very rarely, but when it does, well, you know.

Some quick stats...

uptime
1:44 up 2 days, 7:22, 3 users, load averages: 0.37 0.85 0.75

Memory Usage
Wired: ~200MB
Active: ~1.05 GB
Inactive: ~620 MB
Free: ~120 MB

Page In/Out : ~968,000 / ~1,100,000

This to me looks very bizarre, I don't even get to a point where I use all 2GBs of RAM and yet I have over two million page in/outs in the course of two days. To add to that I have more outs then I have ins

If anybody has insight on this please point me in the right direction, if I can't get this fixed I only have the windows options. No, not that windows option, the reinstall the OS option ;)

Also, this may be related, but I have horrible sleep problems, sometimes I will wake the computer, at the login prompt it will either hang for a minute before displaying the login dialogue, other times it won't come on and I have to close the lid / open and it pops up right away.

Computer has absolutely no hardware problems according to TechTool Deluxe.

One more thing, I'm getting the 4GB upgrade after Apple replace my display, but I doubt that will have any appreciable difference since I'm not exactly using all my RAM before running into the apparent swapping from hell issue.
