Really happy with the battery on the 9.7-inch Pro. 10 hours just like Apple says is possible. Granted, this iPad is only two days old, so that may change after a few months. But I'm happy with it.

Strangely, I'm getting better battery life than with the 12.9-inch Pro I'm "upgrading" from.

That's mine. Same as my iPad 4 with iOS 7. Same feeling: really happy, cannot complain. This is with no music in the background, all on-screen time.
Edit: I must admit that this usage is fairly light; heavier usage has netted me generally between 11 and 12.5/13 hours, depending on how heavy it was. Again, same as my iPad 4. (iPad Pro 9.7)

I was getting around 10 hours from my Pro 9.7, much worse than my Air 2, so I decided to set it up as a new iPad and now I’m getting over 14 hours.

I’ve noticed that battery life can get worse when you upgrade to a new version of iOS or restore a backup to a new device.

It’s a bit of a hassle, you lose game save data etc, but it’s worth trying if you think your battery life is worse than it should be.

You might want to get your battery looked at by Apple. You should be getting at least three times battery life based on your usage.
What about the settings? If it is at 100% brightness the whole time, all heavy settings on, using accessories, I don't know if it isn't normal for that kind of usage.

yeah man nothing wrong with it. i live in california its very bright. the screen kills the battery fast.
[doublepost=1478462551][/doublepost]no acessories, no heavy settings, just need upper brightness levels in my house. that and i do stuff on my pad like paint!
[doublepost=1478462642][/doublepost]i have the brighness set to auto. buts its usually near 100%

i get more like 6-7 hrs when painting at night. 9-10 just content consuming at night like most people

My iPad mini 4's battery life is poopoo relatively speaking. I'm used to 10 hours on an iPad and I get like 6. I'm currently at 64% with usage at 2 hours and 49 minutes, taken off the charger almost 4½ hours ago.

It lasts me all day for what I use it for, but it's still disappointing.

My iPad Air 2 generally gets around 9 I'd say.

Exactly right I was about to post the same thing these times are meaningless unless we know the brightness.

Also look at the posted picks useage 7% usage Tops on Subway Surfer. Or 37% on Safari that's light use.

I don't have a pic but at 50 % Brightness and 60% YouTube and 40 ish % Safari mod to heavy use. I had 35 Hours Standy and 8.50 hour Useage with 25% Battery Remaining now that to me is Phenominal.

I typically get around 11 hours usage and a couple of days standby on my Mini 4. I'm working on running it down now:

87% with 2h 42min usage and 22h 43min standby (haven't used it much today). I'll post the final numbers when it's near dead, but that probably won't be for at least another day.

I typically get around 11 hours out of Mini 4 if I run it down to the single digits.

thats nice man, at 50% brightness i cant see the screen during the day in my office. ive actually killed the pro in under 4 hrs when painting. and it gets hot, but i still love the tablet. its still best in class but my use case is just a battery hog.

Jealous. I normally get around 6 hours SOT on my iPad mini 4.

I've done some things to optimize it. I use auto-brightness and for most of the environments that I use it in that keeps the screen at below 50%. I've also turned off background app refresh and most push notifications. And most of my usage is just web browsing, email, social media, viewing some pdfs, and some Youtube. Nothing terribly demanding in terms of power.

Battery life is what I loved most with my iPad 3 and 4. They took friggin' long to charge but I'd get ~12+ hours on-screen time with the iPad 3 and ~16+ hours with the iPad 4 at low brightness setting (between 0-30% since I usually read in low-light conditions anyway).

The iPad Air and newer do get the 10 hours advertised but I need to charge them more often than my older iPads. I wonder how helpful A10X would be for iPad battery life. My most time-consuming tasks (ebook and comic reading) don't require lots of processing power and would work just as well on the slower cores.

I mostly text, watch videos, and browse the web. I also have auto brightness on but since I mostly use it away from home (meaning outside a lot) the brightness is usually pretty high.

Though I'm not going to turn things off and have my experience suffer to get a little more time with it. I'd rather enjoy it to the fullest while I can.

I agree. I only turn off features that I don't care for anyway. For example, I don't need push notifications to alert me whenever an email comes in. I just check my email when I want to know.

Do push notifications really make that much of a difference? I didn't think they would.
