I opened the case of my eMac in late July and when you take the rear case off, you have to disconnect the power button cable. Well to make a long story short, when I put the case back on I mis-matched the pins and it resulted in a power button that hangs a little bit off the case and if you can see it from this crappy picture it is being held up by a piece of scotch tape.

my powerbook was dented over the superdrive when i got it back from repair.... But i sent it back and replaced basicly everything on it

Linux user since 2003
I used Linux as my primary OS from 1994 to 2003, and as good as Linux is on x86 it is no where as good on PPC. On my Power Mac G5 X11 ran like it was on a 486, mmm no acceleration. On the PowerBook most of the hardware didn't work. So what is wrong with Linux? It is a POS on non-x86 hardware imo.
edit: I should add for general desktop use.

Don't you notice that most of the damage pics are from PowerBooks?
Well here's mine... the damn screw came loose! It was fixed but, is still a bit loose. Later I'll take pictures of the dent by my 56k modem, and on the front right of the trackpad...and on the back rear speaker....damn this aluminum is vulnerable

I've always wondered if that was due to the PowerBooks being fragile or the PowerBook user being rougher on their machines than the regular user - the whole pro-laptop user thing...
My iBook has proved to be reasonably sturdy over the years.

I had my Clamshell iBook and it has no damage at all (Well maybe because that thing is a tank!), yet my aluminum PowerBook has a bunch of little nicks and scrapes...I guess transitioning from a big rubber laptop to a sleek metal one is a hard transition...old habits die hard!mad jew said:My iBook has proved to be reasonably sturdy over the years.

I have several little scratches from I don't know what. On the bottom there are some skid marks. Don't know how those got there. And I will try to find my thread showing the nasty dent under the Ethernet port. Got a really small one underneath the DVI port.

This was what finally killed the 'Skybook' - an attempt to build a backlit keyboard. The picture's kinda bad, but the iBook is actually booting up there, with the two LED's on that board lighting up, powered by the LCD power from the iBook.
Later on, when my friend would solder it all in, though, after all the time spent setting up the fiberoptic wires and the LED's... he would put in the wrong resistor. Frying the LED's and the logic board within seconds.
Man. I never wanna hear anyone say "Is it supposed to be smoking like that?" about any of my computers.
Oh, and you can see what it looked like before its demise in the second picture, bottom left. Gotta love those G3 iBooks.

that G5 makes me shudder! my poor baby! *grabs G5 and holds it in protective grasp*I should post some pics of my clamshell, it's got broken plastic on the hinge, luckily the hinge itself is metal and is fine, but the plastic is now sticking out the rear. plus someone marked on it with a blue pen and I can't for the life of me get it off!
