Hey all,

So being a new developer I am interested on how others have their dev areas setup?
(This includes machine / test device details / software you use )
You can either give a simple description and/or picture as well.

I will start - for now only a text description - will post a picture later

Dev Machine details:

Late 2011 MacBook Pro 17"
Core i7 2.4Ghz
8GB Ram
750GB HDD

Test Devices:

iPhone 4s,
iPhone 4,
iPad 2,

I will post a picture of my desk - but as you can imagine it's rather boring.

I am thinking of getting a second monitor so I don't have to constantly switch between screens all the time!

Software:

Mountain Lion 10.8.4
xCode 4.6.3

Cheers!

I have two setups (Both machines running Mac OSX 10.9 Mavericks beta)

Main Dev machine (because it's portable)

MacBook Pro 15"
Late 2008
500 GB Hard Drive
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Dup
4 GB DDR3 Memory

Secondary Machine

Mac Mini (Current Model)
16 GB Memory
1TB Hard Drive
2.3 GHz Quad Core i7
2x 21" Dell monitors

Devices
iPad 1 Wifi & 3G
iPad 3 Wifi
iPhone 5 with iOS 7 b2
iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3

I got the mac mini because I wanted to make it my main development machine but the portability of my MBP causes me to do most of my development sitting on my couch in front of the TV

Main Machine:
15" Retina Macbook Pro
16 GB RAM
256 GB SSD
2.3 GHz i7

Secondary Machine:
2010 21.5" iMac
500 GB HDD
12 GB RAM
3.0 GHz i3

Test Devices:
iPhone 5 iOS 7 beta 2
iPhone 4S iOS 6.1.3
iPad 3 wifi + cellular iOS 6.1.3

I am considering getting a Mac mini just for development. I need to use my Mac to make a living and my current set up works just fine with 10.7.5. The only reason I need to update is xcode and development. I am curious if the new xcode will support 10.7?

So when 10.9 is out I will get a Mac Mini exclusively for development that I can update osx without breaking other software I need day-to-day.

iPad 1 ios 5.1
iPhone 4 with ios 5.1
iPhone 5 with 6.1

2007 24" 4 GB 2.4 GHz iMac w/ OS X 10.8.4 and Xcode 5 beta 2 (also 4.6 for just in case)
2006 13" 2 GB 1.6 GHz MBA w/ OS X 10.7.5 and Xcode 4.6
iPhone 3GS w/ iOS 6.?.?
iPhone 4S w/ iOS 7 beta 2
All synced with Dropbox and iCloud

Do you guys use a second monitor?

I'm considering getting one as switching between xCode and other screens all the time becomes annoying.

I rock!

and I'm stoked because although it's an old P4,
that motherboard on the desk is identical right down to revision number.
I'm going to make an exact clone PC, so the one I'm using is redundant :)
It's not so much the PC, but it has three development environments on it
that all work, and are a pain to install.
