I did this with my lousy Kodak DX7630 point and shoot. ISO100, Zoom 1 step behind the red, night macro.

How did you guys do with your "real" cameras?

I took this picture using a remote controlled telescope. The telescope is located in the Canary Islands. I took the picture, but I was not controlling the telescope at the time.

Details:
* 14-inch diameter Schmidt Cassegrain Telescope, with a 3910mm focal length
* Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi

I'm guessing 10,000 people took the same picture, as we all watched the live stream from the telescope over the Internet. Google Slooh if you want to know how this works.
 
Maui, so you took a picture of your computer screen with your camera? I'm not sure I get this....
