Post your headphones

I'm looking for a new pair of head phones. What do you guys recommend as the best headphones I can get? My budget is around $100. Comfort is big for me. Thanks in advance

I highly recommend the Shure 440's. I own a pair, and it's my favorite out of about 10 headsets, even though it was a few hundred dollars cheaper than my most expensive pair.

They don't require an amp with an iPod or Zune, and the sound is very clear without a lot of artificial bass. If you've got the means, test them out in store to make sure they feel comfortable to you. I prefer over the ears when comfort is a concern. Good luck!

New set up - the shures I had already, but I wanted to get a little player to go with it and my new pelican case. WHAT A WONDERFUL COMBO. The clip+ has a warm sound signature, the shures analytical and crisp...perfect mesh of two worlds.

These are one of my favorite headphones, the yuin pk1. Why take pics of some generic looking buds? They retail for $159

The most amazing jaw dropping sound signature. Robust! They need to be amped to really flourish though because their are 150ohms.

The amp in the background is a Ray Samuels P-51 mustang. I have had a few of Ray's amps and all have been dreams. As to pairing the amp with the JH 16s, I can't say with a straight face there is any real benefit. The 16s are incredibly sensitive and sound marvelous straight from the iphone. However, I own many other headphones and some - especially dynamic driver types - clearly need the amp to reach potential.

So, in short, the primary reason to own an external amp with JH16s is to balance out the background of any picture you take to post on message boards!

Nice reply! There are a lot of people who amp IEMS, just for the sake of having an amp. I was guilty of that for some time, but have found that amping IEMS can really degrade the listening experience due to the already sensitive nature of IEMS. But since that is a ray samuels amp, I am pretty sure you knew that already. I'd agree that some headphones need it to really flourish though.
