Post your headphones

Anybody have an opinion on UE SuperFi5 vs. a-Jays Four? I already have the UEs, im trying to decide if the A-Jays are worth it or any better with sound quality. I already like the flat cable of them and the remote. I would be using these headphones in a study environment (6-10hrs a day). I listen mostly to trance/house. I definitely want in ears and have a budget of $200 are there any other options?

I've Learned my Sony MDR V150's sound much better on my MacBook Pro instead of my iPhone so now my go to headphones are my Apple headphones...and i abuse my friends warranty and get a new pair every month

I'm thinking the sound range of Trance - even DeadMau5 would playback perfectly with these A-Jay Four's; according to many reviews online. I don't know how they'll stack up again the SuperFi5's though.

I ordered mine from http://www.earphonesolutions.com/. They ship from Orlando, FL. But with their FedEx delivery, it's scheduled to arrive tomorrow which would be in 2 business days. Hopefully I won't get dinged for them.

Just got Bose mie2i in the mail today, I like them a lot. I will be purchasing the Bose qc 15's soon also.

Because the sound is worth it. It's hard to imagine the sound quality you're getting with in-ear monitors until you've experienced it for yourself. I own a pair of Ultimate Ears Triple.fi 10 Pro's and they're the best earphones I've ever heard.

Currently I got a pair of Sennheiser HD201: pretty cheap but they surely have an incredible quality for the price.

Anyway, I'm searching for something different: the HD 201s are in my opinion too big for listening to music when I'm on the go, so I'm searching for a more compact pair of headphones, possibly with a good design but without omitting a nice sound quality. they could be either over-ear or on-ear.
Does anyone of you guys have something to suggest me?
I was oriented to something like the Urbanears Plattarn, they're perfect in terms of size and design, but they lack a great sound quality.
so I'm really wondering. my budget is around 60-70 $.

Actually these are on the lower end of the ultimate ears line. They go up to thousands. They aren't earbuds. They are in-ear monitors to be more precise. Custom molded for my ears and used for monitoring/reference grade work. Not that I do either of those things. Doesn't mean I don't love them. Take a look at the ultimate ears custom website.

What advantage does an in ear monitor have over a regular pair of high quality earphones besides noise cancellation though? As far as my knowledge goes, they're usually used for people at performances who need to hear what they're doing against a loud environment. What advantage do they provide in a quiet house? I've never been a fan of any sort of ear device that isn't open eared, because I've always found that open eared designs always sound more natural and realistic, and are less muddy. Having monitors also implies that you have lots of money invested into equipment that feeds it doesn't it? I might have to eventually look into them if they're real good.

There is no noise cancellation with monitors. It is noise isolation.

In a quiet house I would go with open cans...that is my preference. But when I need isolation, I got with my monitors. It depends on which model/brand you get because each will give a distinct sound signature.

For the most part, yes, high end phones without a good source is pointless. But that goes with any pair of headphones.

Oh ok so the main benefit of them is for the noise isolation. Is there any difference between noise isolation and passive noise canceling? I've always just used the term noise canceling to refer to the passive aspect, and not active noise canceling.

I really like the Koss Porta Pro ...excellent sound quality, $32, lifetime warranty, foldable, and comfortable ( with modification....I put some sennheiser PX100 ear pads in the Koss....a marriage made in heaven!)
