I am genuinely curious about how people will react to their new 16e phones

Got mine with a Winter Blue Apple Silicone Case. Love it! Happy to have a real White iPhone again, with the aluminum sides it's so classic!

Also, interesting to note, according to the battery health display in settings, my phone was manufactured in November, 2024; so Apple has been keeping these units ready to roll at a moments notice. Also, enjoying the default wallpaper for a bit. ;)

Looks great. After owning a black / space grey / space black iPhone since 2009, I too have a yearning to go to the white / silver side.

I love the aesthetic of the single camera. Very iPhone 4s vibes to me. How good are pictures on it?

I am very happy with my new iPhone 16e. It was a fairly major upgrade for me, going from a broken iPhone 12 Pro Max. 😊

The speed and responsiveness is a big leap over my old phone and I actually like the size and the reduced weight. Text seems a little more crisp and the contrast a little richer also. Surfing the web is also more enjoyable as my old phone would tend to lag a little.

I went with the black color and a matching case from Apple.

Got the 16e in black, love the weight, the look, the size, and how familiar everything feels. Battery life seems very good (although it's only been 24 hours!) I will miss Magsafe but that will be remedied with a cheap $10 Magsafe case which I hope arrives today. Only disappointment is the screen brightness: compared to a friend's 16 Pro Max, it's noticably dimmer. Specs say 800 nits screen brightness (for regular non HDR use), which is comparable to the Pro series from a few years back, but it just doesn't pop like the newer better phones (I think all the 16 series except the 16e have 1,000 nits max as their typical non HDR use). All in all so far very pleased!

I actually moved away from iPhones to try out a Pixel… but the 16e is all I will ever need so sold the pixel at a profit (thanks to the carrier deal I got) and I’m so happy to be back!!

The device is lightweight, the screen is great, battery life seems like it will be great but too early to tell, the camera despite being a smaller sensor still produces great pictures with dare I say it, less processing! Much more natural look to the photos it takes.

Very happy with my 16e.

If I may ask, which Pixel did you have? And why did you switch back? I'm thinking about switching to a Pixel "a" series when the time comes for me, so curious.

Thanks for sharing the photos! I'm likely to upgrade to a future e model whenever I retire my 14 Pro. The Pro features are nice, but I've changed most of my iPhone usage over to my cellular Apple Watch and iPad. So my 14 Pro mostly stays in my bag while I’m out, or charging on my nightstand while I’m at home.

What happened to your iPhone 16 Pro natty titanium and the bull strap? It’s understandable why you weren’t participating in the leather cases thread for so long.
Is the 16e all that good? 👍 What iOS version is it running, I think 15 pros are supposed to have visual intelligence on the action button.

I sold my 15 Pro a year after I bought it for almost full retail to someone who was desperate for that exact spec as it still had 100% battery health so I decided to try something different, then realised I just simply prefer iPhones.

I never made use of the pro features, and only really use my phone for social media, everyday photos which 90% of them were taken on the main lens and I just wanted something new with good battery life that would last me a few years. Oh and I didn’t want it any bigger than 6.1”

The Pixel I had was the 9 Pro, superb device it just simply wasn’t for me - plus I missed my AW Ultra which thankfully I kept.

It’s running iOS 18.3.1 after an immediate update out the box.

Ohhh so a break from ? No wonder you went on hiatus from iPhone 📱 cases. You did have a 16PM, where did it go?

I traded in my 13 Pro 256gb for a 16e 256gb today. I still have a 15 Pro Max but I like having a backup or separate work/personal phone.

It’s immediately lighter than either the 13 Pro or 15 Pro Max. I’ve grown accustomed to the Always On Display but I don’t mind not having Dynamic Island or MagSafe.

I preferred getting the 256gb upgrade and a year old AppleCare Theft and Loss vs. the starting model of the 16. This feels like the most aligned the iPhone product line has been in a while. The SE -> 16e is kind of like when the iPad Air got the M1 chip and got close to the Pro model in some cases. The internal specs, Apple Intel, and overall experience (I love Visual intelligence) is nice.

I returned it as it was just too large and heavy, and I didn’t like the camera control button much as it just made cases weird.
Yeah, that’s why I opted for the regular 15 Pro model. I don’t want a Pro Max or a Plus-sized iPhone, nor do I want bulky AWUs. Even though it took a while for many iPhone case manufacturers to get the camera control button covers right, the cases with the opening do make it a bit strange, especially when you get rugged cases, which have a huge hole in them. It also makes people accidentally push the button while they’re using their iPhone.

By the way, do you still wear your Apple Watch Ultra? Is it the first or second generation, and is it in the natural or black tatty color?

Why buy a so expensive plastic case with the cheapest iPhone, should just use cheapest Chinese case to match it

How do you miss MagSafe on the 16e? Should have you thought about getting the regular 16 or kept the 15 pro?

Nah, the 15 Pro was overkill for my usage.
Don’t miss MagSafe as never used it when I had it.

Regular 16 didn’t appeal as I prefer the aesthetics of the single camera and the better battery life which is most important to me.

Got it. I use MagSafe with my iPhone 15 Pro to securely attach a slim trifold, power bank, or wireless charger.

MagSafe wallets eliminate the need for bulky wallets and provide quick access.

MagSafe surpasses adhesive grips like PopSockets and cardholders. No need to worry about cases especially leather ones getting damaged easily and nasty residue from adhesive materials.

What case do you use on the 16e, mate?
