For a day or so of sanding and staining I would restore it. You will be surprised how easy it is and how good it will look. Just have a really fine wet and dry paper for in-between coats.

Hope your enjoying your new iMac as much as I am. It is a pleasure to use (as well as look at!)

This. It is incredibly easy to strip, sand, stain and apply a few coats of poly. Depending upon weather, it could take a weekend to allow time for the poly to dry. Minimum 2 coats are necessary in my opinion. $30 total for supplies, max ... and your time.

Our PowerMacs were getting really long in the tooth and I found my mom and I still spent tons of time at our desktops, so it was time for new ones. I wish I had the light airy aesthetic going on here, but it's night and annoyingly this house doesn't have a lot of natural light to begin with anyway :( So there it is! I'm LOVING the new desktop, and my mom is loving hers as well. :D

Wait, you went from PowerMacs... to Alienwares??? :eek: Why not just get a couple Mac Minis, or even iMacs for the same price?

Yeah now that I got the new place I am currently looking for a bigger desk, I may go with the Galant series from Ikea but still unsure. Believe it or not I made sure it was pretty sturdy on that speaker before leaving it there lol!

I just got my new 27" Imac 3.4,i7, 16gb, 1tb fusion, 680mx and added my 27" Cinema monitor too. Just bootcamp for my games reason why you see windows in this picture.
