I tend to have my apps enclosed in folders with different categories.
BTW It's about time I did a clean-up.

Ok, so first of all, I did not jailbreak my phone or do anything to my knowledge that would break it, nor do I want to! It works fine until I plug it in to iTunes, and I can still use it as before, iTunes just refuses to recognize it properly. I did, however, around this time, restore and jailbreak an Apple TV 2 on my work computer using iTunes and Seas0nPass.

Afterward, I plugged my iPhone 4S in to my work computer and got the error message:

"iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone "iPhone 4S". Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings."

This is the absolute last thing I want to do! This device is full of essential data and music and apps and it would be a huge pain to restore everything.

I thought maybe I somehow corrupted this installation of iTunes or my work system so I took my iPhone to my home computer where I normally sync it and all my music and backups are, and I got the same error message! The next day I connected a work iPhone to the work computer and it had no problem reading the phone. Also, when I plug my phone in, Image Capture still opens and shows me my photos.

My phone has not been jailbroken! How do I fix this so I can sync and continue to save my data and import music, and not completely wipe out my phone? Thanks!

You're better off creating a separate topic about that mate. This topic is about iOS 5 homescreens and what you are posting is unfortunately a bit off topic. Bt making a separate topic about it you'll also get the proper response you're looking for :)

My iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1, and my original iPhone running iPhone OS 1.1.1. (Yes, really. iPhone OS 1.x doesn't allow screenshots via power+home, so I had to take a picture with my real camera.)

Obviously, I have zero choice on the look of the iPhone OS 1.1.1 device.

On my 4S, I like to keep it simple. Only the stock Apple apps, plus a select few third-party on the first screen - Apple apps I don't often use in the "Utilities" folder. Second page are the most commonly used 'other' apps, with all of my work-related ones in a folder. Third page is everything else that isn't a game, sorted by category - (The last two are just added since we're in the middle of our Summer camping vacation.) Fourth page is games. Some grouped, some alone.
