Post your pictures: What do you use your external hard drive for?

I only have 256GB SSD on my rmbp so I keep all my music, TV & movie files on my external. Along with some important back up files for some photos. This reminds me that I really slacked on organizing and updating my backups lately. Better get on that.

Lacie 5big ThunderBolt 2 20TB - Used as my render/scratch disk and have all my projects and events for FCPX.
1TB My Passport - not really used - just to move the odd file around if I need to

1TB WD Passport, partitioned 50/50 for Time machine and File storage, hanging out of the back of my Airport Extreme
1TB Seagate drive full of movies, hanging off my WDTV Live media box
1TB Seagate full size drive as cold storage backup of Files on AExtreme storage (also automatically backed up to iDrive and manually to Onedrive)
1TB WD Passport not doing anything right now
250GB Seagate drive currently contains WinClone images of my Bootcamp partition
Honorable mention to various USB sticks in my bag and keyring and around the house for random file transfers etc.

I have a 1TB SSHD in a FireWire 800 G-Drive enclosure - this has about 500GB of films, TV shows, and Steam games.

This is then daisy chained via FW800 to my 2TB WD My Passport Studio which is used as my Time Machine disk and backs up both my internal SSD and my 1TB external drive.

This all sits on a TwelveSouth BackPack on my Thunderbolt Display, so just plug in one cable and everything works.

I only have one external. It's a time machine drive which also has some other files. The drive is almost dead and is in read only mode.

I REALLY need more storage. I plan to get a 1 and 2 TB for files and time machine respectively.

In the future I plan to get an iMac and get into photography and making videos and stuff so I'll probably get a couple bigger drives and an external SSD for all that.

I only use my external drives for backups (Time Machine & CCC clones) with just a little bit of file sharing.
