so i have an external with 3 partitions, is there a way for OS X to not auto-mount one or two of them? i want to have the computer boot up faster, and i narrowed it down that they apparently slow it down.

and i dont mean to write a unmount script and put it in startup menu, because that would defeat the purpose.

thanks

Do you reboot that often to require this? Couldn't you just unplug the cable and when you want to use the drive, plug it back in. If you must prevent automount, try this

I have always thought mine was quite fast. This 2.33 C2D boots from cold to running in about 19 seconds. I think that is great considering all my PCs take like 4 minutes.
