A lot of the WWDC talk about the new design for iOS 26 was about how they have so much more processing power available now, but I'm worried that yes the processor can easily handle these fancy UI changes and animations but it will likely have to work harder to do so than before... Expecting a decent hit on battery life even when the final build comes out this fall for 26. Thoughts?

the UI definitely seems more intensive with the transparency effects. We've had transparency effects before but this looks more significant.

I trust Apple knows what they are doing and have/will make it run well on all supported devices. Maybe at the lower end it will make them struggle a bit more but that's how new tech/software goes.

it's still early days but if my 15 Pro Max still runs as hot as it does now by the time the final software release comes then I'll be upgrading to a 17. I don't want to be holding a hot device all the time. But hey maybe that's their plan.... lol
