Hello:

I'm tempted to download bootcamp on my imac. A couple of my friends are software engineers, and they recommended that I don't install bootcamp. They mentioned that any beta software is risky, and may lead to system crashes.

Interested in your thoughts. Is this valid argument?

Thanks,

VJ

if you don't feel you are an advanced mac user and at least a very competent PC user, I wouldn't mess w/ boot camp period unless - especially if your intel-based Mac is your main computer

if you want to learn and have other computers to use, you can try it out and possibly learn something.

bottom line is Boot Camp is beta and unsupported, so it is theoretically possible it can hose your OSX install and if you really mess up you can cause other headaches (check out other threads).

doing both Mac and PC support, I'd never encourage any of my users to do this simply because I wouldn't want to have to fix it if they break it ;)
