Hey all,

My brother is in Afghanistan and he has told me he wants to buy a macbook air (REV B) (Well i'll be buying it since I'm not sure if Apple stores exist in the middle east).Him and I shared a macbook pro (2.53GHz unibody model) and he/and I were curious to performance comparison of the two units. Besides the obvious no super-drive, and fewer ports how big of a speed difference will there be? Major uses he does is internet browsing/chatting, watching movies, iPhone/iPod.

Thanks!!

I currently have a Revision 'B' MBA without the SSD, and a 2.53GHz MacBook Pro. I use the MBP tethered to my 24" ACD and take the MBA with me when I travel. My point is this: Had I bought the SSD version of the MBA, I would not have bought the MBP.

For the uses you've specified, the MBA should be fine ... just be sure to get the solid-state drive!
