I use my iPhone calculator a lot. This is for Pound sterling calculations. By default 4 numbers (for instance) will be displayed as 2,777

I want it to show as 27.77 (as an example) I'd like it to be permanently set to this format. i.e. 2 decimal places. This would represent £27.77. so 27 pounds and 77 pence. I do not want to have to type the "." Is there any way to do this?

The stock calculator app doesn't have this functionality. You'd need to search the App Store for an accounting/financial calculator that does.

You pretty much have three options:
  • Find a third-party app
  • Use the decimal
  • Enter in numbers like you want, without the decimals, and divide by 100 at the end
    • ex. 1576+3700+4897+5684+2379 / 100

Thanks yes. I do the third option now. Looks like i’ll continue doing this, no hardship really. I just hoped there was a get around to tweak a setting somewhere.

Thanks guys.

Hi. Yes. It’s a 16 pro. I tried it. But wasn’t able to make any changes to the setting.

Untimely I just interpret the numbers and mentality add the decimal. It’s a bit annoying but no big deal.
Indeed.

iOS 18 calculator app can let you convert quid 💷 to other currencies but it’s not like excel whereas you can solely use decimal dollar values. So you have to use a decimal point when calculating on your iPhone.
