Power adaptor playing up

Hey,
I own a macbook and for some strange reason at the moment my power adaptor doesnt seem to be charging the laptop battery. The Mac will only turn on while plugged into the power adaptor. The green light is on on the power adaptor indicating that is is charging but the battery symbol on the desktop continously has a cross through it. Any suggestions. Is it the power adaptor or the mac?

You could reset the Power Management (SMC). See:
