Power Button Locks Computer

I have a 2019 16" MacBook Pro and I just noticed that when you press the power button for a second, the computer locks. I'm not sure if it's a new feature in the 11.3 update or not. Anyways, has anyone else noticed that or is that new? It's pretty convenient!

It does on my M1 MBA. I don't know if it's new or been there for a while tbh because I usually just close the screen.
It seems it is an intended feature.
