I had the power button set up so when pressed it brought up the shut down message. After I updated to Mavericks the power button puts my Macbook Pro to sleep. I tried looking for a way to enable it to shut down but can't find any way to do this. Any ideas? TIA

I don't know if there is an option to change this, but to shut down like in Mountain lion just hold down the button for a second or two. This brings up the standard shutdown screen like before.

I guess they made it like the iPads and iPhones so a quick press just puts it to sleep since these days the battery lasts up to a month?

I wasn't aware that you had to hold down the power button. That works for me just wish there was an option to do it like I did before. Thanks :)
