power button stop working after smc reset

I did a smc reset because the fan was spinning at maximum. After that the power button does not turn on the computer, it makes the same combination of lights on the charger as when the smc reset is done. In order to turn on the computer I have to disconnect the battery and charger and then reconnect the charger. But when you press the power button again it shuts down directly.
