Power Cable

My power cable died (wire stripped on it) for MacBook Pro laptop. I went to best buy the the only carry 2 types of power cable kits. The older version which I have is a little smaller than the one they sold me in the store but does fit the laptop fine. Only issue is that the new one says its for 15 or 17 inch macbook pro, my is a 13 inch. Is it still okay to us it if it connects. Mine concern is the power from it may be a little more but not sure. Thanks for any help.

is fine, is 85w but your macbook only draws 65w.

If you have the older "t-shaped" MagSafe, take it to an Apple Store! You may be eligible for a recall replacement. Mine was 4 years old. It wasn't stripped, but it stopped charging consistently. I got a free repalcement. It's not a guarantee, but you can always try.
