Long story short.....

My mother who lives in Texas just flew out to NC to visit for my kids birthday party. She managed to brick her iMac to the point that I couldn't even get a remote connection to troubleshoot (I have logmein installed on her computer for times like this) since she couldn't get connected to her internet connection. I told her no big deal since she was coming to visit to just pack it up in the original box and bring with her. Well, she decided to not bring the power cord.

So....how am I supposed to fire this thing up? None of the power cords from my two iMacs (new 2011 27" and 4 year old 20") work on this one. Is this something the Apple store would carry? Is there something that would work it place of the original cord?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm guessing this is a G4 iMac. They have a generic C5/C6 plug with ground. They are common on laptop power cords made in the early to mid 2000's.

Cool, thanks. I didn't realize it wasn't a proprietary cord. I'll check places like Radio Shack, CompUSA, etc.

Thanks!
