So my friend was cleaning out his house and found an old PowerBook 145. Unfortunately the power cord was nowhere to be found.

Since I've never had an older Mac, does anyone have any suggestion on where to begin looking for an older power cord? Or does anyone on here have one?

Thanks!

EDIT: Power Adapters found on eBay for $60, but would like to find a cheaper route if possible.

Thanks!

Unrelated to your question, but out of curiousity... what is the intended use for such machine? cheers!

I saw some knock off ones on eBay and amazon for around 10 dollars. I'd roll the dice with one of those. when I'm at my desk ill give you links.

Wrong area

The PowerBook 145 is a 68xxx series powerbook. Not PPC. 7.2 volt 2 amp regulated power supply. Get what you can. I get ones at goodwill when I see them.

On second thought I wouldn't mess with the cheap knock offs. I found this apple article about chargers and batteries.

If you search eBay for the model numbers from the site, such as M5651 you'll see clothes patches and most importantly some genuine apple chargers. They were around 20 when I looked.

Thanks, I'll look into that. Much appreciated.

Just try to start it up for kicks.

I just graduated, but my girlfriend is going to school still. I may take it to one of her classes just for kicks. Take some notes on it. haha
