Putting this here to get some feedback.
Just replaced my MBP power cord as it was frayed/breaking on both ends.
Any aftermarket fixes or home brew ideas?

Rubber band trick works well. There's various cable savers out there.

Or

The spring trick! That works really well!!!

I phoned apple RE my iPhone 6 28 month old cable that was frayed they offered to replace FREE however they wanted my card details.

I took exception to this so....

I phoned back three times complaining 'just not good enough for a £700 product', 'it was a fire hazard' and 'my house may burn down'.
Twice refused, third apple support said okay - new cable arrive within 2 days - no card details given
Hope this helps
ps
I really look after my apple products but the frayed cable is a known apple fault - just google: apple frayed cable.

These products are expensive.
