So I have a power inverter that powers a small Teac cd player (mini shelf), and i don't think my MBP draws more power than that, but for some reason, when i plu my MBP into the inverter, the light on the inverter will go to green (which means it is charging/ready) to red; and repeats this.

My MBP's screen will get bright (like it is charging) and then dim, and repeat.

The inverter has a fan in it, is rated 140Watts RMS (continuous) and 200W peak. Input is 10VDC ~ 16VDC and output is 120VAC/60HZ.

I bought this from walbogs 4 years ago. Only reason i am using this with my MBP is that when i go on road trips (4-5 hours one way, nothing too crazy), i like to use my MBP for music, as well as use it to dump my photos onto from my camera, as that is the sole purpose of the trips (photography).

I searched and someone recommended a Cobra one. What minimum specs do i need? obviously more than i have now.
