Hello all. Went to VCF last weekend and picked up a G4 466 in nice external condition, neglected to look inside but got it home and discovered the dreaded exploded battery! The holder fell apart and I removed the mess in the case with vinegar, worked great. However, the replacement battery holder goes into two holes, one is + and goes to the diode, and the second looks to be just a via with no connections. There was also a lifted pad that was under the battery holder that also goes to the diode, so I am a bit perplexed. Did the original battery holder have it's negative terminal connected to diode side opposite the positive side, or is something else going on here? Perhaps the original Apple PRAM battery holder had a tab that connected to fat - trace to diode? Thanks!
