Power Mac G4 Stuck on Grey Start up Screen

Hi,

I have a Power Mac G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors), Dual 1.25. It had a kernel panic last week, likely caused by a strange font software. When I tried to turn it on this weekend, it wouldn't load past that grey start up screen with the spinning black wheel. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or what I should do to fix it? I'm pretty confused.

How long have you let the grey screen stay up before doing a hard reboot? After kernel panics and hard reboots, macs usually take a little longer to boot up than normal. The mac is going though its hard drive to see if there was any damage done due to the hard reboot. If it doesn't reboot within about 5 minutes, try flashing the PRAM and run fsck. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/89736/
