power mac g5 not booting

hi i have a dual 2ghz g5 and sometimes it turns on fine but sometimes the power led flashes 3 times which i found out means the ram is incompatible which cant be right or it would never boot i have removed most of the ram and just left 2 sticks in but it still does it if it was bad ram it should only flash twice so i guess it cant be that
any ideas?

Take off the side panel and look at the logic board. Are any LED's on?

This sounds like failing RAM slots.
