Last week I found new RAM for my G5 on the web in Germany. I saw Apple use different types in the Power Mac G5's. My late 2005 G5 use DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-4200) and my older machine, the 1.8 GHz single use DDR SDRAM (PC-3200). Yesterday I installed the RAM in the late 2005 G5 and it works very well. Maybe it's overkill but it was not very expensive and I learned a lot about the G5's.

You'll learn a lot about different G5s this way. I've got one that I couldn't get to accept any RAM I had that was good, and matched the speed and type of the ram that was currently in it. I found another G5 that had the same ram, and that worked. They are extremely picky.
