Power Mac not displaying lines

Lines on calendars are not showing. Nor are the input box outlines on websites. Any body got any ideas? A lot of colors are also looking washed out compared to a MacBook screen.
Using a Power Mac G5 with a 17 inch ACD

This might be a guess but you should try calibrating your monitor.

Not to mention the brightness and contrast.

I did try calibrating the monitor earlier, it looks a little less washed out but the problem of thin vertical and horizontal lines persists. Specifically in google calendar. Maybe I'll try an advanced calibration in the morning...
Any other ideas? its really annoying (in a niggley way)

I had the same problem with my monitor and I resolved it using the advanced calibration.
