Has Apple increased the strict power management (sleep) in OS X at all?

Not only this, but also outside of OSX (eg when booting via the installation disc/media)

Does this come to to Ivy Bridge or OS X? As I had issues burning in Toast 11, during a burn the Mac went to sleep, upon waking it up (since it Toast couldn't continue), I got an error staying "Incompatible media".... This isn't true, as the the media i use has always been fine...... The problem, is the mac is sleeping that results this.

Roxio tells me, the user must disable this in System Preferences, which basically telling me that Apple replies on their users to *do this* whenever a "constant" stream of data (burning) is required by an application.

To me, this sound like an awful implementation of Power management in OS X (if if is since it also happens outside)..... Either way, do delevlopers have access to the control to disable sleep on a "app-by-app" basis ?

If so, then Roxio is wrong, and i'll contact them for a fix. Otherwise, I'll contact Apple for a possible update to allow this.
