Power on G4/G5 remotely with probably ESP8266 - any projects?

Hello,

I'd like to turn on G4/G5 desktops remotely. Or just be sure they are turned on after a power failure.

As I understand, there is no regular way, so ESP8266 looks like a proper solution to that — it can short power putton by a wi-fi command.

Are there any replated projects just not to invent the bicycle once again?

Or, just enable "Start up automatically..." in the Energy Saver preference pane.

You could just buy one of those smart plug adapters, they're readily available, cheap and safe
