At about the same time that I started to download and install 10.4.2, a major storm decides to roll through the area. The last that I saw the status, it said "Installing Mac OS X Update" next thing I know, the electricity blinks, and bye bye computer! I quickly powered it back up, and it started (thank god) but everything is TERRIBLY slow; however, in the "About This Mac" it shows as 10.4.2 I'm afraid that it wasn't completely finished installing when the electricity went. I repaired permissions and there were TONS that needed fixed (unusual for my machine) Is there any way that I can force to reinstall 10.4.2, because Software Update says my computer is up to date. Please, someone help me!

You can go to Apple's site and download the update and then try reinstalling. Good luck.

Alright...the combo update or Delta update, what exactly is the difference? I would think Delta, just becaue I had 10.4.1 before.

This happened to me during 10.4.1, but it was still in software update so I did it again. Downloading it seems like a good idea!

Good luck!

Yes, it worked like a dream!! Thanks everyone, I'm soo happy that I didn't have to reformat. That would've sucked! Thanks again! Also, the update seems to fix the CD mounting issue, so I'm extremely excited!

So children, what did we learn from our little lesson? Don't do OS updates during storms! Hehe.

iFold was just my idea of making the statment that I Fold. Folding is a program that uses your CPUs idle processes to... there's an FAQ, hold on. Let me get it for ya. :)
