I have the 2.5 and the 2.7 mhz. They both were fried during power surges (IMO). I have taken them to get diagnostics but I dont think they know what they are talking about. They told me 1 was working and the other wasnt (they swapped parts) I just opened them up and swapped the power supply (from the one they said wasnt working)...what a joy! Still no go. I get the click that says its getting power but it wont turn on. Then sometimes it will turn on for my brother but I can never get it to. Aside from being schitzo and thinking it is just me, could it be the power button? Any ideas?

Years ago I had this happen to me with my PowerMac G5, same symptoms. I ordered a power supply to replace it and that cured the problem. I never got around to seeing what it was that got fried in my old power supply.

I have a few DP 2.0 that I sometimes put a hairdryer blowing into the power supply for about 10 minutes and then they turn on. Never bothered to figure out what is wrong. Hope this works for you

I know nothing about this sort of thing, but it sort f sounds like you're reflowing the solder in some sense.

I will give it a try lol. Considering how these things already put so much heat out already...I will be surprised if it works.

I tested the power supply that I removed and both fans spun-do you guys know how concrete this info is? Does that mean that the power supply is working?
