So I have a Macbook Pro Model A1226 - Pre Unibody. My power adapter broke and it was model A1222 85W magsafe. So I ordered a new one from ebay that looks exactly the same and says A1222 85W again. But in the system profiler under AC information it reads:

AC Charger Information:

Connected: Yes

ID: 0x0100

Wattage (W): 60

Revision: 0x0000

Family: 0x00ba

Serial Number: 0x005bb252

Charging: Yes

Any ideas why its 60w?

That would be a macbook's power supply, they are 60w.

so on the outside of the casing it reads 85W Magsafe Power Adapter, so have the guts been modified then?
